Spay it Forward

Our Spay it Forward program is at the heart of everything we do. Our mission is to raise awareness in our community about the importance of responsible spay and neuter practices. However, you can’t just talk at people about helping their dogs, you have to get involved in a tangible way. We created a two-fold approach to help us fund this program.

Mama Dogs are the soul of our rescue. That’s why every time we rescue a mom, we sponsor a free spay for a dog in need in our community. Additionally a portion of all proceeds are donated to local rescue organizations to provide spay and neuter services to low income families in our region. To date we’ve sponsored dozens of free spays in our community and prevented thousands of unwanted puppies from ending up in shelter.

Shelter Share

It takes a LOT to help a Mama Dog raise her babies. Nursing mama dogs often eat triple their normal food intake as their bodies work overtime to feed those little nuggets. She goes through enough bedding to make your head swim. Our rescue is always accepting donations of toys, treats, and more because we want mama to have the best of everything. However, at times we receive more in donations than we can reasonably use. When that happens, we have a choice; we can hoard everything in case of a rainy day or we can open our hands and share it with our partners in rescue.

Our Shelter Share program works to ensure that every donation we receive goes directly to a dog in need right away. When our shelves are getting overfull we take the time to sort through what we need immediately and then we pack our cars and drive off to spread the love. Rural shelters in our state and small rescues often lack the resources of their larger or more established counterparts. We make a point to look for the little guy and we share as generously as we are able.
